Since 1993, Charylu Roberts has engraved every songbook Flea Market Music has published. Over those years, I’ve come to think that good music engraving is both a skill and an art form and that no-one does it better than Charylu. Her many years of experience and keen eye for making a page of music look good and read well have played an essential role in our success. Thank you Charylu!

The more I look at these books the more talented I think you are. 🙂

Charylu Roberts is the typesetter and book designer of my Amazon bestseller, Music Theory for the Bass Player. Charylu’s keen eye for an excellent layout, fantastic choice for readable fonts and crisp and clear diagrams have undoubtedly contributed to the success of my publication. She has been patient with my learning curves as a first time author, made herself available on short notice emergencies whenever at all possible und contributed to the entire process not only with beautiful typesetting but also helpful tips about the publishing business. I cannot recommend Charylu highly enough. Her never-ending sense of humor made even the most stressful and deadline driven moments not only bearable, but adventurous and effective. I cannot thank her enough for not only pouring her talent, expertise and time, but also her heart into my project. Highly recommended.

Charylu Roberts did an outstanding job on my book, Holly’s Ukulele Method™. I wrote this book over ten years of teaching group ukulele at Santa Rosa Junior College and Petaluma School of Music. Charylu took the manuscript that I created with 3 different computer programs and turned it into magic. This extremely detailed book includes photographs, line drawings, and cartoons, as well as musical examples throughout 86-plus musical exercises and songs. She took all the elements and created an interior format that is so engaging, people who have never played the ukulele are inspired to purchase an instrument and start playing. Through our 3-year business relationship, Charylu was a dream to work with. She has a positive, can-do attitude, a great eye for detail, and is a wonderful editor. I would highly recommend Charylu to anyone considering self-publishing a music book.
